    • Trash pickup occurs on Tuesdays in the a.m.  Put your containers at the curb Monday evening after 7 p.m.
    • Please bag and containerize all household trash. Collection workers are required by Town ordinance not to collect household trash that is not bagged and/or outside a trash container.
    • The Town provides one trash cart at no charge. Additional trash carts may be purchased for $60 per cart. To purchase a Trash Cart, click here.
    • There are no individual accounts needed to receive weekly trash and yard trimmings collection. Services are paid through property taxes by households within Town limits.

  • chevron_rightYard Waste Collection
    • Yard trimming collection for Channing Drive occurs weekly on Friday.
    • Loose yard trimmings, such as leaves, grass clippings, and pine needles should be placed in a yard trimmings cart, other rigid container, or paper yard debris bags. Yard trimmings include brush, limbs, leaves, grass clippings and other yard or garden debris.
    • Residents are encouraged to use Town yard trimmings carts for the collection of yard trimmings. Unlike trash carts, the Town does not provide one free yard trimmings cart per residence. These carts may be purchased for $50 each. Free delivery is available. The replacement cost of yard trimmings carts is the responsibility of the resident. To purchase a Yard Trimmings Cart, click here.
    • Yard trimmings in plastic bags will not be collected.  Brown paper 30-gal. leaf-collection bags are acceptable.
    • All yard trimmings must be behind the curb or street side.
    • For small yard trimming projects, brush should be cut to less than 4 feet in length and 10 inches in diameter. Make a pile of trimmings that does not exceed 3 cubic yards, which is about the size of a small pickup truckload.
    • Home composting of yard trimmings is encouraged by the town and information is available here.

For Yard Trimmings piles larger than 3 cubic yards, your disposal options are:
    • Take yard trimmings to one of Orange County's Waste & Recycling Centers (one truckload per day is free).
    • Rent a Yard Trimmings Dumpster and fill it yourself. The price is $35.00 per weekday and $60.00 for the weekend (Friday AM delivery and Monday AM pickup).
    • Request a Knuckle-Boom Truck Collection. $125.00 one-time fee. This is the least labor-intensive option, though you must build the pile behind your curb for the grapple/claw to collect it. This service is not as timely, since the Town may need the truck for other projects. Usually collected within 2 weeks.
